It is a vulcanizing agent of natural rubber and can be used to improve the cetane number of diesel oil. At the same time, it is also a very important intermediate for organic synthesis, especially for its special selectivity and high yield for epoxidation. It is an important intermediate for the production of epoxy propane by the Hakon method. TBHP is also a very useful oxidant.
